TELUS Friendly Future Foundation Social Impact Award

At TELUS Friendly Future Foundation, our goal is to empower youth to build the skills, confidence, and sense of belonging they need to succeed today and in the future. To support those experiencing financial barriers and to accelerate equitable access to post-secondary education, TELUS Friendly Foundation has launched a new award program.
In keeping with our commitment to doing good in our communities and to bringing innovative ideas to life, recipients of the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation Social Impact Award are encouraged to undertake a project or volunteering effort that will contribute to positive social, environmental or health outcomes in their communities.
For recipients who are committed to undertaking social impact efforts, and sharing their experiences, we will be leveraging TELUS opportunities to add value and deepen impact, including offering Award recipients’ access to discounted mobile or internet services (where available), mentoring, internships and other career development options.
Here are some examples of ways you can help contribute to positive social, environmental or health outcomes in your community:
- Lend a friendly hand: Volunteer with a local food bank, plant trees, organize a clothing drive for a shelter, or participate in other community service projects.
- Share your resilience: Volunteer as a mentor to help youth who can benefit from your skills, advice, and life experience.
- Build community: Mobilize fellow students for a shoreline clean-up or a charity walk or create an initiative solution isolated seniors.
- Spread the goodness: Support or launch an awareness campaign on social and environmental issues that affect the community.

Available to students enrolled in any full-time programs for their first post-secondary diploma or degree. Applicants must either be currently involved in or are planning on undertaking a social impact activity. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need.
