Ralph & Marlene Knight Bursary

Ralph Knight graduated from the Electronics Engineering Technology program at NAIT in 1972. From 1972-1986 he gained experience in industry by working for several different employers. During this time he complemented his technology background with a four-year night course in Management Development from the University of Alberta. Ralph developed a small business with the help of 30 employees and the support of the community. In 1999, he sold the business and at the age of 53 began his retirement. While still working Ralph earned his Recreation Pilots licence in 1994. During his retirement with his drafting and design background he began building aircrafts. This award was established with the proceeds from the sale of his Murphy Elite aircraft. Ralph believed that you never know how your education will develop your career and mold your retirement. With his education he enjoyed both.

Available to students enrolled in the second year of the Electronics Engineering Technology program at NAIT. Awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need and a minimum academic achievement of 70% in the first year of the program. Students must complete the application to be considered for this award.
