Bruce & Kathy Macmillan Memorial Siviculture Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded in memory of Bruce Macmillan’s exemplary service of over 40 years within the forestry industry, including time as a program instructor at NAIT. The Bruce & Kathy Macmillan Silviculture Scholarship will seek to reward those who show dedication to achieving their full academic potential. An individual who receives this award will demonstrate the ability to strive for greater advancement and improvement in the field.
Available to second year students enrolled in the Forest Technology program at NAIT. Awarded on the basis of the most improved student. “Improvement” will be based on the greatest increase in weighted average between two first year courses(FORT1112 Plant and Ecosite Identification and FORT1214 – Forest Soils and Plants) and two second year courses (FORT2314 Reforestation, FORT2414 Stand Improvement). Three to five candidates will be put forward to a panel of judges for scholarship selection. The judging is based on a rubric that will be provided to students. Students will be automatically considered for this award. No application is required.
