The Frank Bochek IT Bursary
Frank Bochek is a retired electronics technician who was born and raised in the coal-mining town Sterco, in the foothills of Alberta. His innate curiosity and fascination of how things work make him the ultimate science guy, with a particular passion for computers and electronics. He was the owner/operator of Frank’s Radio Clinic in his early career, and was later responsible for small engine and electrical repairs as well as the installation and maintenance of computers in the Yellowhead School Division including the original Commodore 64. Throughout his life Frank has been committed to volunteerism and community work, cheerfully serving others.
Available to first year students enrolled in the Bachelor of Applied Information Systems Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Network Administrator, Electronics Engineering Technology, Network Engineering Technology and Wireless Systems Engineering Technology programs at NAIT. Awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need as well as community involvement or volunteer work. Applicants must have achieved satisfactory academic achievement in the first semester of the program.
