GEARS Scholarship Foundation - Eric Amphlett Leadership Award

Eric Amphlett became a Technologist in 1996 after completing his Mechanical Technologies Diploma. His career has focused on advancing new technologies, including leading engineering development labs for
hydrogen fuel cells. Committed to continuous growth, he earned his PMP in 2008, his R.E.T. in 2009, and was among the first to upgrade to P.Tech.(Eng.) in 2013. Elected to ASET Council in 2013, Eric served as President in 2016—a pivotal time when the Foundation (then ETSFA) was at risk of dissolution. Working with key board members, he helped modernize bylaws, strengthen processes, and bring in new people and ideas, ensuring the Foundation’s long-term sustainability and continued support for technology students in Alberta. “Don’t be afraid of the risk of failure—be exhilarated by the opportunity of success!” Find out more about the GEARS
